It hurts me that there are people in this world that did not care for Melancholia. Usually they say that they didn’t get it. Well, here’s the secret, there is nothing to get. Its a pretty explosion embellished with sprinkles of Charlotte Gainsbourg and Kirsten Dunst. Every scene is basically Lars Von Trier saying, “There is an end to everything, there is an end to everything, there is an end to everything.”
Because there is an end to everything, and by the time the film comes to a close you’re okay with it. Its a truth that you accept.
